Installing a Fronius Rapid Shutdown Box is straightforward and offers the perfect solution for Fronius's Primo and select Symo (600Vdc limit) inverters.
 
The Fronius RSD box can support up to two strings in parallel. Use Staubli MC4 Y-Connectors for connection.
 
The Fronius Duo Rapid shutdown box features a very low DC startup voltage, making it suitable for
use in Off-Grid systems with charge controllers for RSD code compliance or with
other standard string inverter brands.
 
The RSD box can be deactivated by the built-in signal relay in Fronius Primo and Symo inverter lines
or alternatively by a manual switch that cuts off the two-wire communication line.
 
In Alberta and some other areas, an extra RSD initiator switch can be placed on the roof,
if accessible, requiring a secondary rapid shutdown initiation method in multiple locations.
