The PVmet series of weather stations are crafted to fulfill the monitoring needs of modern solar energy production. The PVmet™150 is our Precision Utility Grade model, ideal for users who demand top-tier sensors for highly precise data. The PVmet™ 150 is offered with ISO 9060:1990 and WMO second-class, first-class, and secondary standard pyranometers. All our PVmet stations are either SunSpec certified or compliant and allow integration via the MODBUS RTU interface using RS-485. Our expanding range of PVmet solutions provides the perfect match for any PV monitoring endeavor.

Ambient Air Temperature
Encased in a passive solar shield.
Global Irradiance or Plane-of-Array Irradiance
The irradiance sensor is adjustable and can be configured to measure global irradiance (when horizontal) or plane-of-array irradiance when aligned with the PV panel angle.
Back-of-Module Temperature
These sensors are affixed to the back of the PV panel using thermally conductive adhesive tape. They deliver precise panel temperatures, a crucial factor for efficiency monitoring. Each system includes one sensor. The PVmet™ 150 can accommodate two sensors, with the second available for separate purchase.
Installation
The PVMET-150's compact and lightweight design facilitates quick and easy installation. Various mounting options are available, including the RainWise Mono Mount. The PVMET-150 comes with a detachable mast section that can be bolted to an existing structure.
All electrical connections are made using screw terminals. Standard sensors are pre-installed at the factory.
As a user/installer, the only required connections are for power, communications, and external BOM sensors. Access to the connections is gained by removing the front cover, which is secured with four screws.
Customization
The firmware in the PVmet™-150 can be updated through the RS-485 port using a straightforward PC application. This feature ensures that the PVmet™-150 remains current with the latest firmware updates. Additionally, RainWise can offer certain OEM firmware customizations, including register configuration, specific defaults, and protocols.
The PVmet™-150 can also be tailored to support customer-specific sensors. This service is exclusively available to volume OEM customers.
